Good sports day for Charlotte

It was a pretty good sports day for Charlotte sports teams.

First, the Carolina Panthers started training camp down in Spartanburg in front of a reported 10,500 fans. It’s the official start of football season, filled with high hopes and expectations.

We learned that linebacker Jon Beason reworked his deal to give the team more flexibility this season.

Then word spread that the Bobcats and guard Gerald Henderson had reached an agreement on a 3-year, $18 million deal.

Henderson is just the second Bobcats draft pick to sign an extension after his rookie deal.

What do you think about what’s transpired? Happy with Beason’s deal? Happy Henderson is back? Excited about football season?
