CHARLOTTE, N.C. — WCCB-TV Charlotte, the 49ers’ local television partner, will air six Charlotte football games during the program’s first season in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member of Conference USA.
WCCB will air all six 49ers games that are being produced by the American Sports Network (ASN), which is one of Conference USA’s television partners. Ten of the 49ers 12 games in their inaugural FBS season will be televised by Conference USA partners. Television details for an 11th game, at Kentucky, have not been released.
WCCB will air ASN broadcasts of three 49ers home games and three road games.
The first broadcast on WCCB will be the 49ers home opener, Sat. Sept. 12 vs. Presbyterian. WCCB will also air the 49ers first home Conference USA game, Sept. 26 vs. Florida Atlantic as well as the 49ers Homecoming Game Oct. 24 vs. Southern Miss. WCCB will also deliver road games at Old Dominion (Oct. 17), at FIU (Nov. 7) and the season finale at Rice (Nov. 28).
Charlotte’s first game as an FBS program: at Georgia State, Fri., Sept. 4, will be nationally-televised on ESPNU. CBS Sports Network will air a home non-conference match-up vs. Temple (Oct. 2) and a FOX network will televise 49ers home games vs. Marshall (Oct. 31) and UTSA (Nov. 14).
The 49ers’ two-year old program will be making its debut in the FBS as a member of Conference USA in 2015. Charlotte spent its first two years as an FCS Independent.
