Panthers at Jaguars Game Post

The Carolina Panthers open the regular season on Sunday as the team travels to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Since entering the NFL as expansion teams in 1995, the Panthers and Jaguars have met just five previous times in the regular season. Jacksonville holds a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series after Carolina won 16-10 in the last meeting between the teams. In that game, which featured a driving rainstorm that dumped an estimated two-to-four inches of rain on the field during the second and third quarters, the Panthers prevailed 16-10 after quarter- back Cam Newton’s first career game-winning drive. 2015 marks the second consecutive season, and seventh season in the past nine, that the Panthers have opened the regular season on the road. — Press Release | Photo by Gene Ferrell

Injury Update

As of Friday, it appeared that DT Star Lotulelei would not be playing in the opener and will be replaced by Kyle Love.

Starting C Ryan Kalil will make the trip and will be active, but will be on a snap count. Look for RT Mike Remmers to slide over to C and rookie Daryl Williams to come in at RT while Kalil takes a breather.

Starting cornerbacks Charles Tillman and Josh Norman both passed their concussion protocol tests this week and will start.
