The Charlotte Checkers today announced its schedule of promotions for the 2015-16 season. Along with the return of the team’s wildly-popular events, such as Race Weekend(January 22nd and 23rd), Pink in the Rink Weekend(February 12th and 13th), Teddy Bear Toss(December 20th), and the Pooch Party(April 10th), the upcoming season will also feature several events to honor the team’s return home to Historic Bojangles’ Coliseum.
For Opening Night on November 7th against Manitoba, the first 3,000 fans will receive a viewmaster compliments of Bojangles’ that will showcase the history of hockey in the iconic venue dating back to the first ever hockey game in Charlotte in 1956. Throwback jerseys that will be worn by the current Checkers, will be available during a post-game auction for the December 5th game.
Among some of the new promotions that the Checkers have in store this upcoming season will include “Winning Wednesdays”, with all fans in attendance receiving a free ticket to the next Wednesday Checkers home game should the Checkers emerge victorious, a first-ever “Social Media Night” on December 17th against Iowa, and a LEGO night on April 1st against Texas.
