Bulls loss reduces Hornets magic number to 3: Last night, the Chicago Bulls lost to the Atlanta Hawks 102-100, meaning that the magic number for the Hornets to clinch a playoff berth is now down to 3, and it could possibly get reduced down to 1 tonight, if the Hornets win at Philadelphia, and the Bulls lose to the Pacers on the road at Indianapolis, and Charlotte could possibly lock up it’s 10th playoff appearance in franchise history as early as Thursday, that’s if Chicago loses at Houston. Also last night, the Boston Celtics lost at the L.A. Clippers, meaning that Charlotte only trails Boston by a 1/2 game for the 5th spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Magic number for Hornets to clinch playoff berth: 3(Any combination of CHA wins or CHI losses that equal to 3 would give the Hornets its 10th playoff appearance overall in Charlotte NBA history, and their third in the last 2 seasons.
