Hurricanes to square off against Rangers in October 28th home opener in Raleigh

RALEIGH, NC – The National Hockey League announced the dates for each team’s respective home openers, and the Carolina Hurricanes will welcome in the New York Rangers to PNC Arena on Friday, October 28th, with a 7:00 p.m. puck drop.

The date is as little late as usual this year, as it due to the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, which slightly pushes the start of the 2016-17 NHL regular season, as well as the North Carolina State Fair rolling into town for their October 13th opener.  In addition to the Hurricanes home opener at PNC Arena, another Hurricanes game date has been added, as Carolina will pay a visit to the MTS Centre in Winnipeg on October 13th to take on the Jets.

The remainder of the 2016-17 Carolina Hurricanes schedule will be released tomorrow afternoon.
