CHARLOTTE, NC – The Charlotte Hornets today announced that they have exercised it’s third-year option with forward/center Frank Kaminsky.
“We are excited to keep Frank as a part of our team’s core. We have been very pleased with his development offensively and defensively, and we look forward to what he will continue to contribute to our organization, while evolving into a better player.” said Hornets General Manager Rich Cho.
Selected by Charlotte with the ninth pick overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, Kaminsky, 23, is currently in his second full NBA season after appearing in 81 games during the 2015-16 season with the Hornets(including 3 starts as a rookie that season), averaging 7.5 points per game, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 17.3 minutes per game last season with Charlotte. He reached double-digits 23 times, which included two games of 20-or-more and nine games of 15-or-more points.
The Hornets will be back in action on Wednesday night at Spectrum Center as they welcome in the Philadelphia 76ers(7:00 p.m., FOX Sports Southeast/WFNZ 610 AM/102.5 FM).
