The Charlotte Knights announced yet another college baseball game to their list of previously-announced games, and it will be taking place on Tuesday April 11th, when the University of North Carolina Tar Heels will take on the University of South Carolina Gamecocks at BB&T Ballpark, with first pitch slated for 7:05 p.m., and tickets for that game will go on sale on Saturday morning, along with the 4 other college baseball games that were previously announced. Last season’s first BB&T Ballpark match-up between the two schools drew a sold-out crowd of 10,205, and was prevailed by North Carolina 15-0.
North Carolina is a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference and competes in the Coastal Division, with the Tar Heels baseball program is led by head coach Mike Fox, who is a 1974 graduate of East Mecklenburg High School. Fox has been at the helm of the North Carolina baseball program since 1999, when he took over the reigns from Mike Roberts, and during his tenure in Chapel Hill, Fox has a record of 796-344 overall and has taken the Tar Heels to the NCAA’s College World Series six times. He will be inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame on May 5th.
The University of South Carolina is a member of the Southeastern Conference(SEC) and competes in the Eastern Division. The Gamecock baseball team is led by head coach Chad Holbrook, who will enter his fifth season as South Carolina’s head baseball coach, having taken over the position from the university’s current Athletics Director, Ray Tanner in 2012. South Carolina has won two College World Series titles in 2010 and 2011, and during Holbrook’s tenure in Columbia, the Gamecocks have appeared in two NCAA Super Regional appearances in 2013 and 2016.
Tickets for the North Carolina/South Carolina baseball game will start as low as $11 and will go on sale at the BB&T Ballpark ticket office at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday morning. In addition to this game, fans will also have their first chance at purchasing tickets to four other college baseball games that are slated to take place at BB&T Ballpark, with tickets starting at $10(students with a valid college ID can get their tickets for $8.), and these games include:

Tickets for all 5 games in the Charlotte Knights College Baseball Series will go on sale to the general public at 10:00 a.m. at BB&T Ballpark, located at 324 South Mint Street, and at 12:00 p.m., tickets for the games will then be sold online at CharlotteKnights.com and by phone at 704-274-8282. In addition, the Knights Armor Shoppe will be open from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. this Saturday, and fans can also meet and greet Charlotte Knights mascot Homer the Dragon, as well as Norm the Niner from UNC Charlotte, Big Stuff from Winthrop University, as well as players and coaches from the Appalachian State, UNC Charlotte, and Davidson baseball programs respectively.
