Hornets set to hold Open Practice on September 30th

The Charlotte Hornets today announced that the team’s annual Open Practice event, presented by Kia, will take place on Saturday, September 30th at 12:00 p.m. at Spectrum Center, and the event will be the first opportunity for Hornets fans to get their first look at the 2017-18 edition of the Hornets, featuring last year’s All-Star, Kemba Walker, along with Nic Batum, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, and off-season acquisition Dwight Howard, as well as new additions Malik Monk and Dwayne Bacon.

During the Open Practice, fans will get their first opportunity to purchase the new Hornets merchandise that will be available during the 2017-18 season at the brand new Hornets Fan Shop location located inside the main concourse of Spectrum Center, with the 2017-18 season being the first year of the NBA’s new apparel partnership with Nike, with the Hornets being the lone team in the NBA wearing Jordan Brand uniforms.

In addition to the practice session, the event will feature a lot of entertainment and activities for not only the fans, but for the entire family that day, as the first 1,000 kids 14 and under will receive a Hornets drawstring bag, and fan favorites Hugo the Hornet, along with the Honey Bees will be in attendance to meet fans, and a youth basketball showcase will take place on the court.

Five lucky fans will be selected to take part in a free-throw contest, with the participant making the most baskets will get an opportunity to take a half-court shot for a chance to win a Kia Nitro.

The Hornets will conduct a portion of their open practice on the main floor, and following the practice session, the players will take part in on-court games and entertainment with selected fans, and after the on-court portion, fans will get an opportunity to get autographs from their favorite players.

The Open Practice at Spectrum Center is free and open to the public, but fans are required to have a ticket for entry into the event, and fans can claim up to six complimentary tickets per person at Hornets.com or by registering for open practice tickets at Ticketmaster.com.
