After going 1-2 on their 3-game preseason road trip, the Charlotte Hornets return home to the confines of the Spectrum Center tonight as they welcome in Kyrie Irving and the new-look Boston Celtics. The last time both of the teams met was last week in Boston, as the Hornets would fall to the Celtics 94-82 at TD Garden in Boston, and the Hornets are looking to enter the final week of the preseason on a high note as they look to bounce back from a tight loss back on Monday night in Miami.

EARLY SEASON INJURIES MEAN MORE MINUTES FOR HORNETS ROOKIES: The Hornets are currently without several of its key players, including Nicolas Batum, who will be out 6-8 weeks, and head coach Steve Clifford has decided to shake up the lineup a little bit over the last few preseason games, and in tonight’s home match-up at “The Hive”, Hornets fans will be in for a real treat, as it will be the first time that fans will get to see the preseason home debut of Dwight Howard, and not only that, Dwayne Bacon will be in the lineup for Charlotte in tonight’s game, as the Hornets will play the first of 2 home games to wrap up the preseason, before getting things going next week in Detroit against the Pistons.

CELTICS LOOKING TO CAP OFF UNBEATEN PRESEASON: Boston meanwhile has won all three of its preseason games so far, including the first match-up against the Hornets back on October 2nd in Boston, and they look to cap off an undefeated preseason slate this evening in Charlotte against the Hornets.  The key players to watch for the Celtics tonight is none other than Kyrie Irving, and Gordon Hayward as well.  Both of the players will be under the spotlight tonight, in Boston’s final preseason contest on the road in Charlotte, and Irving is already looking forward to returning home to Cleveland next Tuesday night in the season opener against LeBron James and the Cavaliers, but first things first for him and the Celtics, and that’s looking for a win to cap off a 4-0 preseason slate tonight against the Hornets in Charlotte.
